We use artificial intelligence (AI) as a tool: it helps us write, translate and summarise faster. Here we tell you where we use it, how we label it and what we do not let it decide, in line with Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 laying down harmonised rules on artificial intelligence (the AI Act).
1. Where we use AI
- News: some news stories are written with the help of AI, based on one or more sources cited below the text.
- Translations: short news items (Flash) from other languages may be translated automatically.
- Summaries: short summaries of news from external sources are generated automatically.
- Explanations: some texts that explain a company's indicators and analyses. They carry the label “auto-generated”.
- Broker pages: texts and score proposals are prepared with AI and checked by our team before publication.
2. What AI does not decide
- Company verdicts and scores are calculated by a quantitative model with fixed rules, not by a language model (see Investment Recommendations (MAR) and Conflicts of Interest).
- Final moderation decisions, appeals and serious cases are decided by a person.
- Decisions about your account (closure, restrictions) are not taken by automated means alone. The only exception: unconfirmed accounts are deleted automatically after 7 days.
3. How we label it
- News written with AI carries the label “Written with AI assistance” next to the date, and the full note, with the sources, below the text.
- If a person on our team has checked the story and takes editorial responsibility for it, “Reviewed by our editors” is shown as well.
- Automatic translations carry the label “Automatically translated from …”, and automatic summaries the label “Short summary made automatically”.
- If we ever offer a chat-style assistant, it will tell you from the start that you are talking to an AI system.
4. Editorial policy
- Sources: every news story has its sources, with links. From external sources we take only a short summary, with a link to the original article.
- Facts and opinions: we keep facts separate from interpretations and estimates.
- Balance: we do not write news to influence the price of an asset, and we do not publish paid news without labelling it.
- Corrections: we correct factual errors quickly, directly in the story.
- Official accounts in the feed, marked with the team badge, publish news and the pulse of the markets. They are our accounts, not those of real individuals.
5. AI can make mistakes
Texts produced with AI may contain errors, omissions or imprecise wording, even after being checked. For important decisions, check the source. If you find a mistake, write to us at zmentaro@gmail.com or use “Report a mistake”.
6. Your data and AI
We do not send your account data, your posts or your messages to AI providers. AI-assisted texts are produced from public data about companies and from news sources. Third parties may not use our content to train AI models without our consent (see section 6 of the Terms).
